Description: "Manufactured by the Tidy Automatic Ink Well Co., St. Louis, Mo." according to the back, and "Patented July 11, 1899" if we're to believe the cover, the Tidy Automatic Ink Well has a copper-streaked steel (apparently faux antique was hot at the beginning of the last century, too) top with surface rust I doubt is original, a heavy--and very wavy--glass bottom, and a cap made of that very hard old rubber that's moved back by use of the front lever, ensuring the need for two hands to write one letter. 4-1/2" high, 2-5/8" wide and deep, and, except for the aforementioned rust and the presence of ancient, dried-up ink in the well, in very good condition.
