Description: Antique brass or bronze mortar and pestle. The flared mortar measures about 3 1/4 inches high, 4 3/4 inches in diameter at the top, and 3 inches in diameter at the bottom. The pestle is 10 inches long, and 2 inches in diameter at the knob end. Together, they weigh about 4 pounds. The pestle has embossed concentric rings and two larger raised rings which mirror the raised rings on the pestle; it is scored about every inch or so. Condition of both pieces is very good for their age. The mortar has some exterior age or stress cracks, and the pestle is aged, worn and pitted.
