Description:
This gorgeous walnut-framed leather armchair was hand-crafted in Holland around 1960. The walnut, having developed the beginnings of a lovely patina, displays a rich grain and a subtle complexion that will continue to grow more beautiful as time passes. The leather has also aged quite beautifully, as it too displays an impressive complexion. The carvings in the crest and along the apron and legs look quite elegant, as do the brass brads, which also help keep the leather held in place. For the most part, this chair has sustained only minor surface wear, although there appears to be a minor crack where one of the arms joins the body of the frame. The legs, which are similar to the English cabriole leg, are quite sturdy. Perfect in any setting, this chair would make a fantastic addition to any antique furniture collection and is sturdy enough for daily use!
