Antique French Figurative Bronze Clock Bagpipe Player
This is Truly Rare, Large & Impressive Antique Bronze Clock is made in France around 1840-1850.
Base is made of gilt bronze with marble inserts. Rare ornate case with bull heads, grape leaves and Minerva head.
Clock is surmounted by patinated bronze statue of a Bagpipe Player.
Stature is signed, which is very exceptional for statures on the clocks, by J.Feuchere ...
Black marble inserts have some cracks as shown. Gilt bronze relief dial with blue Roman cartouches, some are repaired as shown. At the back is the movement protected by original glass door with bayonet joint.
French movement with silk suspension and 8 days going work and the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a silvered bronze bell. The French movement stamped with Christophle a PARIS. Good running and striking condition.
Key, bell & pendulum included.
