Description:
Joseph Mayer & Bros produced sterling pieces from 1895 to 1945, this spoon is one of the earlier pieces.
It has an eagle on the top with a seal that closely looks like the Oregon State Seal, it has the sailing ships with something under it, not sure but it may be the wagon trains found on the normal seal and the wheat, plow and pickax normally found on the seal. There are also some sort of letters underneath this, not sure what they stand for.
This spoon is 5 3/4" long and is hallmarked with the Joseph Mayer MB with picks, it is in lovely condition, does have some slight signs of age common in silver of this age, mainly a couple of teeny, pinhead size spots in the bowl. It comes from a smoke free home and would be a lovely addition to your collection!
