Description:
These fabulous Elegand Glass candleholders are shown in The Glass Candlestick Book, vol. 2 on page 34 in topaz. Here they are in Wonderful Wisteria!
You may, (or may not), know that Wisteria is a remarkable color because it is considered "dichroic", which means two-colored.
Under incandescent light, it appears lavender. (See first picture). Under flourescent light, it appears blue!!!
These high-deco candleholders have a fixed , (not removable), bobeche, which supports 8 prisms. The bases are in perfect condition. The only thing close to a flaw is a tiny chip that is right next to one of holes, as indicated by the last picture. You really have to go looking for it...it is not evident. I think it might have even left the factory like that, as the holes would have had to have been drilled.
These are NOT sun purple glass!!!They really started out life this color! Wisteria was only made from 1931-1938, although this style of candleholder was made by Fostoria in other colors and clear into 1940.
