We were lucky to acquire it from a lovely Private estate in the South of France near Cannes!The clock dates from the third quarter of the 19th C. (c.1880).The style of this marvelous mantel clock is Louis XVI and the bronze gilt is in excellent condition.Good running and striking condition with 8 days going work and the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a silvered bell.The carvings are gorgeous with garlands and flowers everywhere.The porcelain dial with blue Roman numerals and brass hands are fantastic! The dial is protected by a little door with a bent glass.The bronze movement is stamped on the back with " Bainco a Paris ".
