Description: SEA CAPTAIN'S PEWTER INKWELL - having a wide base, 6 3/4" in diameter, this mid 19th century capstan form inkwell has the surface patina of considerable age. With a height of 2", an original hinged lid and five holes for pens, this is an operational inkwell having a glass insert that is, as is most often the case, a replacement.
