Description:
This is a very nice, Stanley No. 5 Jack plane including the original box, Stanley advertising tag, and a copy of the original Stanley "PLANE FACTS" brochure. The plane is in very good condition, with about 99% paint and nickel plating intact, only a few very bare metal stains noted. This 1960 era plane has the rosewood handles with the heavy lacquer finish on them, making them appear almost black, but the are both original rosewood, and in fine condition, with only a few tiny white specks note on one side of the tote. It appears the plane was used once or twice, but it is super clean. The cutter is very sharp, and appears to have never been sharpened. A very nice plane! The box is not quite as nice as the plane. It is intact, but has some clear taped joint on the green label end, the other corners are fine, and the bottom is in good++ shape with just minor shop dirt stains noted, very solid. Also included is the "GENUINE STANLEY THE FINEST PLANES EVER MADE" tag, that was originally supplied to fit on the front knob, for advertising in the local tool store. We also include the rare "PLANE FACTS" brochure. It has 13 pages total, including an instructions "HOW TO USE" guide, a Stanley line of plane types guide, and a Stanley exploded view showing parts numbers for each part on both Jack planes, and block planes, and the part name and or description. A very nice package deal! Would make a very nice gift!
