Description: Fabulous gem of a sterling silver and mother-of-pearl lined presentation box in its original green leather, silk and velvet case(case shows very, very minor wear on one edge), London, 1902, Child & Child - makers. Hinged box is "jewel casket" in form, having a handle at the top and a decorative catch at the front. Decorative piercings (a squirrel, a flower basket, a bird and flowers) decorate the box, revealing the solid mother-of-pearl lining of the box. Bottom of box is solid silver-gilt. @3" long x @1 1/2" deep x @2 1/2" high (to top of domed top) x @3" when handle is raised. An amazing, unusual piece, perfect for a collection. Excellent condition.
