Description:
For sale is this exceptional tempera on canvas portrait of a young woman. She is just so beautiful, with an exotic flower in her hair. I showed the picture to some friends of mine in the antiques business, and they believe this was probably used to illustrate a story in a woman's magazine. I also believe this is original artwork used to illustrate a story. Her look is definitive of the era when this was painted. It is signed EJA 1924. I tried to find out about the artists, but having only initials made this very hard to research. Measures approx. 27 1/4" h x 21 1/4" w. She has 2 old repairs. One in her hair and one on the canvas. I think these were well done, but please look at the pictures carefully. I am also not sure if this is tempera or gouache. I had her in my own home and think she is just exquisite. She will be shipped priority mail with insurance and delivery confirmation.
