One of the largest retailers of Mexican silver during the 1960's, Platéria Rancho Alegre was a popular tourist attraction and served as an outlet for many of the country's finest designers and silversmiths. This charming, wonderfully handwrought, silver pin was crafted by noted silversmith Adan Alvarado for Rancho Alegre. It depicts a Mexican peasant carrying two water containers, tethered to a yoke across his shoulders. With minimalist tool work and expert cutwork, the details and character of the figure are vividly brought to life. Hallmarks: RANCHO ALEGRE; STERLING, 925, TAXCO {circle}, AA {inside circle}; Eagle assay #3. Dimensions: 1-3/8" wide x 1-3/4" tall. Condition: Fine vintage condition, with a secure rollover clasp.
