Description: Late 19th or early 20th century walking or tramping stick, made in New Zealand timber. I think it may be Silky Oak - golden colour with good grain, fairly light in weight. The stick is quite long, so may also be suitable for tramping or hiking. It has a round knob top, and tapering stem. No tip, although it probably once did have one, as there are two little holes. Stick measures 98.5 cm long (39.1/4 inches). Very, very good condition. This item came from the Wagener Museum in Northland.
