Description: This walnut Writing Desk has more "bells and whistles" for a little piece of furniture. Underneath the lifting top is a two sectioned file holder, exposing a slotted pen/pencil holder toward the back. The surface lifts forward to make a writing surface. But that's not all...the interior surface lifts up for a hidden storage section. The right side of the desk opens to expose three vertical slots - the left side lifts open to four horizontal slots. The interior features a contrasting lighter wood. This would appear to be English, late 19th c. It measures 30" h., 36 1/2" w., 17 1/2" d. The one imperfection worth noting is the middle section (top) has some slight warping which makes a tight closure not possible - but it is thought that the charm of this desk would be hidden if the top was ever kept closed.
