Description: A beautiful rosewood and polished brass desk Telescope by renowned maker of optical instruments, John Cail. This one is a two inch reflecting telescope with its original rosewood case. It extends to 36 inches in length. It is exceptionally rare to find pieces by John Cail. They are of very high quality but quite scarce. He worked in Newcastle-upon-Tyne from 1825 until 1865 from four different locations during that time. A wonderful Father's Day gift!
