Description: This is a rare and stunning American immigrants traveling trunk that dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. The trunk belonged to one Lena Hill who from what we gather lived in North Carolina during the late 18th century to mid 1800's. Her name is gracefully painted in script on the front. The trunk itself has wide pine boards and hand made dove tailing. This black beauty measures 33 1/2 inches long by 15 1/2 inches tall. The brass handles are original and still as strong to the touch from the day Lena stored her treasures in it. There is a touch of femininity and diminutiveness about this trunk that pleases the heart. It's all American and fresh out of a Carolina estate.
