Description:
This real photo postcard pictures a starboard view of the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Yorktown CV-5 and was most likely taken between 1937 and 1941 before the U.S. entered World War II. It is in very good condition with no tears, holes, folds or creases. There is some minor corner rounding and softness. The Yorktown was commissioned in 1937 and was sunk at the battle of Midway in June of 1942. It was printed on Azo paper and has the squares in the corners mark used by them from 1926 into the 1940's. This postcard has a notation dated October, 1943 written on the back but was not used.
Shipping costs will be quoted after purchase and are weight based to the destination zip code. I do combine multiple items into a single shipment to save on shipping costs. Please feel free to email me if you would like a quote of the exact charges prior to ordering and be sure to include your zip code.
